Old Case #1001100522. On November 19, 2010 I had the Windshield replaced, on my 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser (Vin #JTEBU11F870003918) by Safelite Autoglass. During Windshield replacement, the installer found that the Trim/Molding clips were damage and that the Trim/Molding was held by glue, the damage to the holding clips could only be the result of the poor installation of the Evaporator Coil (Invoice #TOCS301652) on December 5, 2009. The replacement of the Evaporator Coil was due to excessive odor when using the A/C, but the replacement part didn't resolve the problem. On November 18, 2010, during a 60,000 mile service interval (Tag #T2940), when I complain that there was still excessive odor when using the A/C, it was found that the reason for the excessive odor was cause by the timing chain cover leakingĀ. It seems that Smithtown Toyota not only did a poor job in the replacement of the Evaporator Coil, but also charged Toyota Corporation for work and parts that were not necessary. Again, it is impossible to know what other damage was done during the replacement of the Evaporator Coil, on December 5, 2009, it is probably hidden. The reason for this email is to demonstrate the poor performance and negative representation of Smithtown Toyota and Bob Maloney, Customer Relations Manager. I do not expect that any action will be taken by the Toyota Corporation, but at least you have been notified and this email will be kept on my records.
